In Hanover, at the IAA Transportation 2024 fair, innovators from the transportation industry gathered to showcase how they will keep the world moving better in the future.
For us, translators, events like this represent the perfect opportunity to support an essential industry through quality translations. But for humanity as a whole, this fair is a step forward in revolutionizing transportation—a field we all depend on.
Last week, our colleagues Mirela, Alexandra, Codrin, and George, all sales specialists, were present in Hanover to explore not only the fascinating world behind orders on Shein or Temu but also the new technologies that will change the way we travel and transport goods.
But what were four salespeople from a translation agency doing at a transportation fair? It’s simple: They are there to seek opportunities to bridge the gap between innovation and communication.
The Future of Transportation Depends on Global Collaboration
“IAA Transportation 2024 was an unforgettable experience, especially due to innovations like smart highways, solutions for urban mobility, and real-time global supply networks,” shared Mirela Domuța, Country Manager at SWS Translations’ Germany office.
Mirela attended previous editions of the fair and explained how everything ties into global collaboration and communication.
“In this context, translations play a crucial role—whether we’re talking about technical manuals, software, or marketing materials, fluent communication without language barriers is the key to success. Without accurate and specialized translations, transportation innovations couldn’t reach every corner of the world.”

Green Technology and Smarter Transportation
Alexandra Băderca, Sales Specialist at Swiss Solutions, is passionate about technology, and living in Timișoara, she knows all too well how important an efficient transportation system is.
“The most impressive aspect of the fair was seeing how major companies are innovating to develop green technologies and zero-emission solutions. The advances in electrification and hydrogen are incredible!” Alexandra told us.
But it wasn’t just the technology that impressed her; it was also the opportunity to talk directly with industry experts.
“The networking was a huge plus, giving us a clearer vision of the future of transportation.”
Salespeople and Flying Cars
At the fair, our colleagues also discovered prototypes of autonomous cars, driverless taxis, and even flying vehicles. Codrin Munteanu, Head of Sales at our Bucharest office, sent us stunning images of the collection of Volkswagen vans showcased at the exhibition.
